The PGC has released their population estimates for each WMU as directed in the Audit. Here is the link to the report. Go to the section on research and click on ,"Monitoring Deer Populations in PA"

They did their very best to make it as difficult as possible for the average hunter to understand or question the results. But, despite their efforts to mislead the hunters ,it is obvious that the statewide herd was decreasing from 2004 to 2009.

Without a doubt the goal of the DMP was to reduce the herd. But the PGC is claiming that herd reduction stopped in all but 3 WMUs in 2004. However, the data provided shows the herd was decreasing in all of the WMUs in the report while the PGC is claiming the herd was stable.

Now look closely as the last page in that survey: Of the 18 WMUs reporting, only WMU 5A was agreed to a recommended population increase of 12%. Every WMU that suggested a decrease in population was decreased. In nine of the WMU were the CAC members recommed an increase in the population, the PGC did not agree and decided to keep the population 'stable'. So basically no matter what the consensus is - the PGC does what they want anyway. What a bunch of morons!
