But, what it will do is reduce the visibility in any areas with a well developed understory making hunting more difficult. So you better plan on playing a lot of cards this weekend.

No worries, just another chicken little warning us all that "the sky is falling"

Anyone in the Forest/Warren County area Or near Cook Forest that can tell us how much is on the ground now?

I have snow laying in the higher elevations where I'am at. I hope this mess goes away soon, I still have hay to cut and bale.

I'm banking on the snow staying away on the South mountains (5A) where I'll hopefully be in a tree in the a.m. Light drizzle I can handle, but man I hate a downpour or being caught in an ice storm. Also banking on a few smokepolers pushing a few my direction. I'll be letting the inline in the cabinet and hoping for a good buck. Seen too many over the years carrying that inline in October, including a ten point one year. Gotta let it sit and keep on bowhunting.

Here is an interesting quote about the snow storm.

Winter Storm To Impact Alleghenies
NWS: More Than 4 Inches Of Snow In Some Parts Of Pa.
Posted: 1:18 pm EST January 7, 2009
Updated: 10:15 am EDT October 16, 2009

Heavy, wet snow is likely across the Alleghenies through Saturday, especially above 1,500' and west of I-99.
An accumulation of only a few inches could bring tree limbs down onto power lines.
The rest of the area will see rain and some snow mixed in at times with some light accumulations possible.
In State College, National Weather Service reported there was 2.5 inches of Snow as of Thursday night.
This is the earliest in the year that State College has had snow for as long as records have been kept. The previous earliest snow in State College was one-tenth of an inch on Oct. 18, 1901.
Stay tunedto WJAC-TV for future updates over the next few days.
