RE: Pa. Nogamelands being Stocked With Deer
NO gamelands? A place that has the wrong name ,cause there aint no big game> Animals> Deer there. Tree rats yes. Again What do people call lots of deer? Compared to what?I call seeing 30 deer a day good 50 a day just right. And yes you can have lots of deer and still have lots of big bucks. You need to spread your wings and detach yourself once and a while from the anchor that holds you here.I can take you to at least 5 states that you will see 50 deer a day and come home with a B & C 90 % of the time. Pa can be that way to if the PGC would spend our money with the hunter in mind instead of the big compaies that butter there wallets. Ship the stinkin timber companies off the gamelands and manage the place like a garden of Eden instead of a match company.I've hunted in many states and am just relating what goes on elsewhere. Im going either to Iowa Missouri,Kansas or Ill. again next year. Go with and you will learn something. The PGC aint God.Again Some of Alts ideas are OK ,but ,yes it bothers the heck out of me that he exspects us to hunt on gamelands and he hunts on a private pay club. I think he should practice what he preaches or get off the pulpit. Oh and alot of the other states private landowners manage there land the way they see fit And I guarantee you ,Private land will always be better hunting.Cause they manage it for there concerns not some company or politician

RE: Pa. Nogamelands being Stocked With Deer
First we have to find states that want to sell these 20,000 deer, then we have to catch the buggers, transport them, make sure they don't have Chronic Wasting disease.......... Let me see, at $500 per buck, well, ya'll do that math.

RE: Pa. Nogamelands being Stocked With Deer
Cardeer ,You say you would pay 100 bucks, Well In the live free or die state If I buy all my tags GUN,MUZZY,BOW,DOE TAG,spring Turkey, bear, Its pushing that now, and we only have about 3to 4 deer per sq mile. I forgot the moose tag by permit only around 100 dollars.BTW all deer are small the first two years, come up here and help me chase the bigone hes bein around for years and only one guy saw him but couldnt shoot because of arthites.... My dad shot two wall hangers In potter, and sullivan.....

RE: Pa. Nogamelands being Stocked With Deer
I hope your not advocating in-season stockings! I bet the truck followers would be way worse than we get in trout season<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: Pa. Nogamelands being Stocked With Deer
Yeah heck, just shoot em as they come off the truck! I still can't believe we are even discussing this...........

RE: Pa. Nogamelands being Stocked With Deer
That's a good one.
The state wants to decrease the herd, and they're gonna stock? C'mon. Can you tell me what states I'm 90% sure I can come home with a B&C after a season? Get real, man, there's no such place. BTW, stocking doesn't work at all. There's been many, many studies done in southern states that tried this, most notably Texas A&M and Alabama University studies. They all conclude the imported deer are more than likely to die the first year, and rarely breed successfully. Even if they didn't, it's a ridiculous idea. |
RE: Pa. Nogamelands being Stocked With Deer
6ptsika,Well you all misunderstood most what I was trying to relate. I've been to Iowa three times three B&C buck. And in 2000 I seen over 120 deer in 3 days ,probably 20 150 score bucks on a farm ,not fenced either,I lived and still own property in Duval County Texas ,Same there. I can see some of you never ventured very far in your hunting careers.I think I only have a couple deer pics from Iowa posted on my pic site so far.But in the next couple weeks I will dig thru my storage sheds and post some 170 score bucks from Iowa, all in one year after the other. Biologist are smart ,but come on are you going to believe most of them that are employed by politicians or believe the visual truth. I seen the deer farms and ranchs with there breeding programs.Believe me if they all would die ,them places would go out of business.I dont mean this as nasty or want to come off as a stuck up person, and believe me I,m not, and would give my right arm to help someone. But some of you guys need to get a life and go see whats else is out there in hunting opportunities. Before I started hunting or living in other states I thought the sun rose and set on Pa and there deer huntin to. I still like it here ,cause I can shoot as many does as I want in the special regs area in the surbuban communities with out spending much money. What are you guys going to do if and when the Pgc achieves a good buck population in Pa and all of a sudden the private land is leased up by outfitters and they want 2000 to shoot a buck? And the Gamelands will still stink.Like I said throw the stinkin timber companies off the gamelands and start farming 30 % of it like other places do.One good Example in Pa .Is blue marsh state huntin area in Berks county. Now there the PGC is doing it right wood ,crops, woods crops thru out the whole area. And Im for a total of a 6 pt antler restriction except youth in Pa. So see I do agree with Alt on some things. When I move back to Texas and get things goin there again You all will be welcome and for free, you just get there. You wont want to come home. And you would never believe how the Texas game commission listens and helps and cooperates with the hunters. www.community.webshots.com/user/cardeer51

RE: Pa. Nogamelands being Stocked With Deer
Cardeer,I stated that if other bucks were to be brought in to Pa,they would have to put a limit on the new bucks coming in or you would be defeeting the purpose. If you could shoot every big buck including the ones brought in to breed
right off the bat,you would end up with the same Pa deer herd you had from the beginning. It would be like this next year,If the only bucks legal, are the same bucks they are complaining about not getting a chance to breed the doe because of all the littler bucks around who will breed the doe when the big legal bucks are dead. Also sooner or later you have to look at both the upper end and the lower end of the deer herd when they are born, and protect both in some way. I am not mad at you cardeer, I think people that (attack) others on here just because of their opinions need to get a life.I just think that if your idea was put in place the first year you know who would have a season on shoot all the new big bucks and where would we be then besides out of the money spent for it. |
