Just got in from awonderful morning on the Delayed Harvest Stream. Landed 19 trout lost 8. It is just beautiful outside!

where were you fishing.

i fish youngwomans creek delayed and crossfork creek near oile bull.

that crossfork creek is best, i love it there.

i take my dog along and he swims while i fish, then we eat lunch on tailgate.

i cut 2 trout today for about 3 hrs of fishing.

i was using a COACHMAN WET FLY.
Sproul,I was fishing Lloylhanna Creek,Westmoreland County. Man, I haven't fished Youngwomen's & Crossffork in a long time.

My buddies and I used to go up and stay at Oile Bull every Memorial weekend to fish the Green Drake hatch on Kettle & Crossfork.

Those Green Drakes coming off in the evening where so thick in the air,you needed your windsield wipers on to see while you drove near the streams.

Oh my God does this bring back memories. All the days I spent flyfishing Young Womans Creek, Kettle Creek, Cross Forks Creek, and Slate Run. I loved the early season hatches of Blue Quills and Hendricksons. And when there was no hatch, I loved to pick pockets on Young Womans with a small Adams dry fly. Fish after fish after fish.......

My cabin is 1 mile off Kettle Creek and I'll be there in April. By the way Sproul, how are the mountain top roads?
You said it outsider! Best hatches and best dry fly fishing in those streams period!Man do I miss those days.[&o]

Had a great day on Kettle on Friday before helping stock from the FFO area to Cross Fork. Think I mighta even met Sproul while we wuz stocking.

I lost count of the numbers. They sure did like eating a Little Black RubADub Stone in size 16.I'm heading back out shortly.

yes, i was stocking kettle creek from cross fork down to road hollow bridge.i drove a willys jeep that day.

how about that big 28 inch palomino we put in,he was RIO GRANDE.

the fish we put in on friday at youngwomans creek catch/release area are not biting, they were all RAINBOWS and very small on size.

you would think there was not fish in stream, they were very dark colored.

fish warden caught 8 college students from lock haven university fishing in closed area.

NONE even had a fishing license.

those are going to be out future corporate leaders/judges/politicians

I don't understand what happened to the special regulated area of Young Woman's Creek. It used to be loaded with wild brooks and browns. Now they stock it with rainbows.

trout UNLIMTED does not want brook/browns stocked, they want nothing but NATIVE trout.

the RAINBOWS cant breed with the NATIVE trout,so thats all we are allowed to stock, nothing but rainbows .

catch/release area is loaded with rainbows this week .

you cannot use bait or scents of any kind and barbs on hooks must be bent down or barbless.

deputy wardens are checking that close.also you cant fish after dark as some were fishing it out illegally.
