Jim,if the number of pre-rut bucks being killedincreases, there is a potential that we'll lose the rut.
finally something we agree on.

i see more bucks now being killed in archerythan i did years ago when we had more bucks.

hunters with more capable weapons are hunting more in archery for bucks, but its getting harder to get buck in archery on SFL do to early oct in-line season.

that week is making buck hunting hard.

this is why i feel that the 3 POINT to side rule should be for all of us,no kids exclusion.

this is only way to keep a few buck coming along to breed that are not shot.

RE: Maybe Crossbows won't be that big....

Maverick, Im far from "mad all the time" about the crossbow issue or any other. But when the topic is discussed, I make my feelings on the issue known. I know there isnt a thing i can do about it now, but Im certainly not gonna forget about all the good will pgc has been heaping upon us. THAT is something that needs to change. A more hunter friendly and responsive pgc. IF most wanted crossbows, Idve said give it to them....Even though I disagree with their inclusion. IF most were against it, as the commissioners said their correspondence indicated...You dont do it. That simple. Or at the VERY LEAST make more of an effort to reach out and see for sure what the majority of hunters wanted on a larger scale.

But just because its a done deal now doesnt mean its not still on the pgc going against hunter list along with the list of pgc deer slaughter and money making schemes. Also the harvest, deer densities etc. should be watched very closely and at the very least tags adjusted. Which I am very doubtful will ever occur.

This was just like the complete ignoring of hunters on the deer plan etc. Same deal. In fact, it was the exact same commissioners who were NOT LISTENING to hunters on the deer plan....Pallone...Schleiden etc.who voted for crossbows...

I dont care if you are for or against the inclusion. The reasons for it being done were wrong. Hunters were ignored yet again. The sham deer plan has just been injected with steroids. [:'(] More doe killed. More buck killed. More money for pgc.

Its not just about the "type" that will be more common in the woods, the more crowded circuslike conditions, the shortcut, its not a bow...or any of my other arguments against that I feel accurate personally. Crying about those would now be a moot point as its a done deal. ButWe will continually need to assess the harvest etc. from here on out, as well as deal with pgcs "antics"so those things will continue to need addressed, and always have prior to crossbows, yet now, just a bit more.

GOOD INFO.

THESE NEW CROSSBOW HUNTERS ARE GOING TO FIND OUT ITS NOT SO EASY TO hunt ANYMORE IN ARCHERY HERE ON PUBLICLAND in wmu2g.

with lack of deer, its hard.

then throw in week of IN-LINE and scouting the week before, its hard to hunt and get close shot.

i do see more deer being killed ,not only all new hunters but compound hunters that are more deadly with less practice with crossbow.

i also see more poaching, not with crossbow but do to lack of deer and all hunters spooking deer so they only move at night.

archery hunting is real hard here in clinton/potter countys.

i have time to sit for weeks to get chance at buck that is spooked but most dont.

THEY ARE GOING TO GET A REAL WAKE -UP ARCHERY HUNTING IN WMU2G.
