RE: "The Good Old Days"
ORIGINAL: livbucks ORIGINAL: BTBowhunter ORIGINAL: bluebird2 Are all you PGC supporters deaf ,dumb and blind? Hasn't anyone else compared the size of the head and the rack to the apparent size of the body? doesn't that raise any questions in your mind? He was truthin' when he said it's legs were blown off though. Legless runt nubbin'sARE an elusive quarry aren't they?. The same way he suddenly "saw" those 6 racks in bow season. The same way he "sees" some of his other facts. He even thinks that my dog makes posts on here![]() |

Make for easier "Bird" prey![/align] |

I think I understand how he saw a rack on that deer. The same way he suddenly "saw" those 6 racks in bow season. The same way he "sees" some of his other facts. He even thinks that my dog makes posts on here |
RE: "The Good Old Days"
Wrong again.
No rack. Just a trumpet and the trumpet players hand + lots of imagination. It looks like the guymay be holding the right earto hold up the head. If the trumpet valves count, it could be AR legal statewide;) ![]() |
RE: "The Good Old Days"
A rack on that peewee?
Huh? |
RE: "The Good Old Days"
Maybe it's just a really big guy holding it

Finally BTB has proved I was wrong about something. Three cheers for your side!!

RE: "The Good Old Days"
BTB, thanks for the zoom shot. Still think that deer looks funny. Are we SURE it's a PA photo and not a mule deer? Head looks disproportionately large.

RE: "The Good Old Days"
The picture was in an album that belongs to my wife's cousin.
She wanted to copy some other photos not related to this one. I happened to see this in the album and thought I would share. As of right now, I have NO details about the photo, but I will see if I can get some history ifI talk to him. Until then, speculate away. It is good fun and can't possibly turn into a PGC debate. I can't make the connection but it MIGHT be possible.;) Do you see a button there?? As far as a mule deer, Do they come that small?? Would have to be a newborn, darn near. ![]() |
RE: "The Good Old Days"
Now that I look at it, is it possible that the deer is still alive in the photo?
Their ears usually droop when they die I would think. Maybe the front legs are just hidden in the grass. Could be a muley fawn that they chased down and were toying with. I do see a button though...where's Old Blue??:D |
RE: "The Good Old Days"
Thanks livbucks, I've been messing with this photo since I got up this morning. I think it to is a young muley. I filtered out the photo a little. This is what I got

RE: "The Good Old Days"
it looks like he is holding back of the head up so looks like it may be dead and is it me or does it
look like it was shot in the guts |
RE: "The Good Old Days"
Not sure, but I believe the shirt and tie tradition has its roots in pre colonial Europe where hunting was a privilege reserved for the wealthy...a gentleman's sport if you will. Could also have to do with respect for the game, reverence for the hunt. I imagine the band was for deer camp entertainment purposes. (No satellite tv in that camp!) The mature conifer forest setting could be the western states, and the deer is looking more and more like a mule deer each time I look.

RE: "The Good Old Days"
That is a very interesting picture none the less. Thanks for sharing!
