And, I'd say you were very desperate to present a rational response to my post.

LOL, bluebird, if you have been following any article that Newsweek has published about hunting, you'd quickly discover they are as anti hunting as it gets.

That theory is totally unfounded but by a bunch of tree hugging activists.

You presented a biased, unsupported, anti-hunting article by an anti-hunting reporterin Newseek as "proof" that the PGC is mismanaging our deer herd. I'd say that you are skating on pretty thin ice with that one.

Then you misrepresented Dr Krolls research yet again. Again, I'll continue to put my faith in HIS conclusions, not your spin on them.

If quoting Newsweek as your source of facts is rational to you, then I guess my response will never make any sense to you. I trust the others here to decide what's rational.

Heard about this, so I googled Richard Harris Montanaand about the first site I found with this Newsweek article in it, was on an animal rights site. From what I gathered, they were pretty gleeful about someone debunking hunting as a legitimate wildlife management tool.

Unlike some, I refuse to hit the little red button again, or the available reset.

So are you saying that ARs provide the animal rights groups a reason to attack legitimate deer management? If so, I agree, because ARs didn't improve breeding rates or productivity in PA and were only implemented to get hunters to kill more doe.

Dr. Krol denounced the study done in Mississippi and expressed that his preferred method of AR was a width measurement. He completely supported protecting 11/2 year old bucks.I support AR of any fashion in the absence of other management practices such as shorter fire arms seasons, one buck per hunter per year inclusive of all weapons and seasons, the elimination of nuisance slaughter permits, more precise DMP issuance within regions etc.
