The only reason I hunt a lot is because I enjoy it. I pass on a good number of legal bucks every year. The rifle opener was only 20 minutes old and I passed on a 7 point in 2f.

since there are dirt roads for 10 + miles around my house the chance of a car kill are
slim flintlock if somebody sneaks in and kills him for a doe that wouldnt bother me
atleast a doe would be saved
what i accomplished is i didnt shoot the first brown thing that walked by and i could
hunt with my family rest the week till doe came in on first sat i dont have to shoot

One thing is certain. If you'd have killed him right there, no one would ever get to see his potential. Good luck meeting up with him again!
