RE: Semi autos in PA.

People can buy pumps with 10 RND clips and shoot the woods full of holes also.
Not to much difference between a pump and semi. The guns stay shoulder from both and just a slight pause from the pump compared to the semi. A pump in a set of skilled hands can unload a clip faster than an average hunter with a semi.
I think they are anti 2nd if thet don't allow semis. I thought they would be pro gun.But it doesn't look that way here in PA.

Boys, I'd be worried about just keeping the rght to shoot rifles in deer seasons in the future. I think this is the next step, banning High Powered rifles in PA. Maybe like MI only high power above I=80 as a landmark, seems more home south of there!

with all deer being around homes and population growing and more anti hunters than hunters, yes, you are right.;)

A few yeasr ago I would have agreed. However, studies have shown shotguns to be no safer than rifles. Any effort to ban high powers in PA would be met with serious resitance from rifle hunterr and the science now supports theirposition

Since when do the anti's apply science to their point of view?:D

They don't. But the support of good science will make it a bit harder for the anti's to push their agenda especially in a state with 900,000 hunters

Of those 900,000 hunters, how many vote?

Seems Obama had no problem winning over those 900,000 hunters in Pennsylvania last November..

Heck, those 900,000 hunters weren't able to keep Ed Rendel out of office either.

The problem is, People cast their vote for canidates under the misguided notion that "they'll never get our guns"

900,000hunters won't prevent anti's from their agenda unless they understand how real the threat is. The attitude, that because we have lots of hunters, will prevent more firearms regulations just isn't true.

Elected officials make the laws not citizens. Officials with an anti gun point of view won't care what hunters think.

If we elect enough antigun /anti hunting officials they'll do whatever they want with the support of all those city dwellers.

If we keep electing officials with no regard for our gun rights, then its just a matter of time before we lose.

I'm not a smoker but look at how much smoking has been regulated over the last ten years.

Don't think it can't happen.

Oh yes it most certainly can happen. If ever there was a time to be veryafraid about our second amandment rights it is right now. Obama makes Bill Clinton look like a gun lover.

My original statenmnet about science being on our side was only in the narrow context of shotguns vs rifles in PA.

I wholeheartedly agree that we got way bigger problems than that looming!

How did "we" get from a question on trapping regs (quickly and correctly answered by an actual WCO), to some mysticalconnection with trapping regs andwhat Bamarama and his dimwitted anti-gun bunch might do?

The regs are what they are. Either follow them, or pay the consequences when you get caught violating them.

I own several semi-auto rifles and pistols. Would love to be able tohunt with them, especially my trusty old 10/22 Ruger. But it ain't legal here in PA and probably never will be. So be it.

I apologize for my little rant.

I just had this debate with my BIL a few days ago.

Hehas that"they'll never get our guns" opinion. I guess I carried over my frustration with him to this forum.

He just doesn't see. Hunters like that drive me up a wall.
