RE: Rifle season 2008 is history
ORIGINAL: DougE Sorry Sproul.I could have harvested a buck every dayI hunted in rifle season this year.Last year was the same.Actually it was even better as far as total deer sightings. This yearI was too late and didn't get dmap tags for the places I really wanted to hunt. my real worry here in CLINTON IS 2 THINGS. no SPIKE BUCKS this year and fawns being killed bigtime by coyotes/bears on what doe are left.:( |
RE: Rifle season 2008 is history
ORIGINAL: DougE No he doesn't.He wants more deer and easier hunting at the expense of the habitat.Anyone that hunts 2G and can't find deer either isn't hunting or they don't know how. That goes for 2F, 2D and 2B as well. I suspect that is really a statement that applies to the entire state. Maybe it'd be a bit more fair to add one more choice.... can't or won't adapt! |
RE: Rifle season 2008 is history
The question is not can you find and kill a doe. The question is should you. My answer is yes if you are a meat hungry greed driven idiot.

The most blatant greed driven idiot story I've heard is the one about the group of 6 guys who took 5 button bucks because that was "all they saw" That gang leader complained then that we were killing too many antlerless deer and he still does today. He continues to lay all the blame on the PGC and refuses to acknowledge his share of the responsibility for that despicable situation. |

RE: Rifle season 2008 is history
Old RSB was driven from posting on this MB by the truth about his predictions. Now we have poor BTB posting copies of block messages and telling lies about someone he isn't capable of debating in rational manner. But some guys will resort to just about anything in order to avoid facing the truth and I guess BTB has proven he is one of them.

RE: Rifle season 2008 is history
I suppose if you had good habitat and few deer,it would be stupid to shoot muntiple doe.I don't see that as a problem,However. On the other hand,I have no problems shooting multiple doe in poor habitat or habitat that's just starting to recover.2G is loaded with places like that.So yes,you should shoot doe in most places in 2g.

RE: Rifle season 2008 is history
So, should they shot 20,000 doe in 2G in 2007 instead of 6,600. Since forest health is rated as poor in 2g would it have been better if all 26,000 hunters followed your example and filled all their tags along with the DMAPs?
