I will be, but I've got to say that in all my 30 years hunting I don't remember seeing too many deer in heavy rain. I surely never actually shot one either. Drizzle, or just after a rain, yes, but mighty few sightings in steady downpours as is expected tomorrow. I think one would not be smart to just stay home either. You never know what someone could push your way on opening day!

I doubt anyone will be deterred by rain on opening day, at least i would be surprise, it might shorten a few trips but most will tough out a couple hours nad get up and walk around and bump the monsters to guys who have the patience to sit tight. Good luck guys

I'll be out there and my only concern is how high the wind gusts will get. It's supposed to be windier on Sunday in central new york at least. I'm hoping the forecast will miraculously change in a couple of hours to calm winds and overcast. Good luck to all either way

Sat all day, saw 1 spike
. It rained almost nonstop till 1, thank god it was warm enough to deal with being soaked.
Its supposed to be windy tomorrow, so Im gonna put my hiking boots on, and do some spot and stalk.
Good luck to you guys.

Was out all day. I saw a doe and 3 fawns but 2 guys at camp got a couple nice bucks. Sorry but I do not have pics yet. The first was at about 7:30am on a nice 7 point at 300 yards. It was not raining steady yet, but the second was at about 4:30pm in a steady downpour. He shot it at 15 yards. He says he never saw it coming. It just popped out of the thick stuff and jumped a downed tree and bang. Whole thing was about 10 seconds he said. Right place at the right time. Good luck tommorrow everyone. I cannot go out again till Thanksgiving and it is tearing me up inside.
