Going to Illinois Nov 2-6 and will also be doing some turkey hunting.

It is painful to think of all of the days out in the woods that I will be missing. Those squirrels that have been digging up my beds are in big trouble!!!!!!

Slow in Potter County. A few scrubby bucks and some does but nothing to write home about.

On a more realistic note, I got out for our first day this past Saturday. I managed to haul my butt up to one of my blinds. It wasn't as bad as I thought considering the stream crossing. In the morning I had two small bucks anda doe within shooting range of my stand. It is very tight quarters there. I am going to have to post some pics of the area so you guys understand what I am talking about here. 20 yards is a long shot in this type of environment. Saturday afternoon/evening I saw five more doe but no shots...again because of the distance and the fear of spooking them. I did not see a shooter buck but one of my buddies managed to see a nice 120's 8 pointer when walking back into his stand around 11:30 in the morning.

I saw a lot of buck sign on Saturday. The 2007 fog saved the herd from further reduction.

I hope.

Just talked to a friend I don't see that often and he tagged a three year old 120" buck with a 20" inside spread the first day. He shot it behind his house near Slickville.
