Be careful of what you wish for. Burning is an effective way of bringing back undergrowth for better deer browse, however it also promotes the growth of a little guy called mountain laurel and although deer feed on it it can quickly take over an area and make hunting this thick almost inpassable littlle problem a venture in futility. I hunted a property for 33 years right in your back yard Sproul. just off 664 bordered by the spoul and it is un huntable anymore due to the laurel. The state has a real problem getting anything else to grow in the north central regions other than conifers and laurel. they have for years been trying to reintroduce Oak with no luck and no clear cut answers as to why.

Are you sure you aren't talking about rohdodenron instead of Mt. laurel? I never had a problem hunting through Mt. laurel but rohdodrendron can be brutal. BTW, I never read that fires favor the regeneration of either species.
