ORIGINAL: bluebird2 The truth hurts sometimes, Them 10 points are a tough drag, and you could hurt your spine if'n you're not careful. I recommend a nice two-wheeled cart. That's what we use. Not to mention that you don't want to damage the hair, for mounting purposes. |

Yea, I guess you are right on that one. Them 10 points are a tough drag, and you could hurt your spine if'n you're not careful. I recommend a nice two-wheeled cart. That's what we use. Not to mention that you don't want to damage the hair, for mounting purposes. |

Whatever...all I can say is I'm very satisfied both at home in 2B, and at camp in 2F.
That's all I can tell you. Best PA hunting in my life, so far. Sorry if my truth contradicts another's agenda. |
RE: PA antler restriction
And it probably never will whether you have AR's or not because the genetics are just not there. Pretty much any place that lets the deer grow old, has huge bucks. I call that pretty good genetics. SO few bucks in PA, AR's or not ever get to truly realize thier genetic potential. |
RE: PA antler restriction
Pretty much any place that lets the deer grow old, has huge bucks. Really? So why are there more B&C entries from states like Iowa, Illinois and various Canadian provinces than there are from most northeastern states? Most of these states and provinces famous for B&C bucks don't have AR's either. |

So does Ohio have good genetics?

RE: PA antler restriction
Could itbe that there are less hunters there allowing deer to get older and larger in those other states? Could it be that most hunters in those other states do strive to pass younger deer and shoot older deer? PA has 800,000 hunters with a mentality of wanting to shoot a buck so they can brag about how they got their buck this year, no matter the size. I think PA's genetics are fine, it's the age structure of the Buck that leads to lower B&C entries not genetics.

pahunter60, we practice those shots in strip mines. This requires you to out a plywood insert in a tire and roll it from the top of a hogh wall in a strip mine. You cannot shoot up hill, you must have a backstop wall and you must be very careful shooting. But you will get excellent practice.
I try and get inearly and go beyonf the normal hunters in the woods. Somewhere I read that most hunters don't go beyond 4-500 yarsds. Let them push deer to you, on the opener, if you are in deep enough they are looking behind them not in front but you have ot want o get inearly and stay ;ate. Pays off. Bowhuintoing is certainly less stressful as well as ML after the holidays. Jeeze you will have to woods pretty much to yourself then. Hunt hard hunt safe! |
