DCNR asks for less DMAP tags but....

From the Pittsburgh Tribune Review Sunday July 13
DCNR will request almost 3000 les DMAP tags statewide but they will be requesting more tags for the Sproul and Elk State forests. These werenoted as some of the most overbrowsed in the state. DCNR is seeking 1650 DMAPS for Sproul(up from 1000 last year) They are asking for 1300 for the Elk State forest up from 600 last year.
All this fuss and all those tags just to get those last two deer in the Sproul

I just recently talked to locals in the area. Their (the two deer) names are Bucky and Minerva. I guess it might be fitting to refer to them as they are known locally.
The only problem I see in the future is that their lifespans are probably going to be relatively short-lived due to all the 10-yr. old flatlanders who will undoubtedly get thier tags filled by overzealous Dads with radois calling for tags.

we got thefirst week of deer NO DOE HUNTING here in SPROUL.
now you see how the great DCNR works.
we try to reduce the number of doe killed, they raise the amount of DMAP tags.
i said it before, if you want to know what is happening in SPROUL ,dont rely on what you read in newspaper on WHY the dmap was increased.
face it, they want deer gone and they use DMAP as their weapon.
i will be reporting this to STATE REP HANNA ON FRIDAY AT HIS OFFICE.
thanks for tip.

As far as Minerva goes, she doubled up this year in early June. Dropped Ed and Sophie. That effectively has doubled the deer herd there. Wait until you see the ant. lic. allocations next year!! Kids with headsets on everywhere....

Iff'n he gets out of Sproulville, he'll probably discover that the rest of the state doesnt have those big crews with radios and kiddie tags and he wont be back. Hope he doesnt run into any cougars or insurance company coyotes in his travels.....

It appears that the intent of this thread was to bash and belittle Sproulman. None of the posts addressed the issue of whether the increased DMAP tags were necessary. No one has addressed the issue of whether HR has improved herd health or forest health statewide or in the Sproul or Elk SF.
is it asking too much to ask all all posters to stick to the issues rather than bashing fellow hunters.

.......Uhhhhh......We can all seriously address serious posts. I can't much further address sreiously some or most of the stuff I see on here that chronically derides current game laws and present personal attacks on what is nothing nore than supposition and innuendo. If you care to follow this innane and convoluted philosophy presented by the one you seem to side with, that will be your own personal choice. I decline to do so. If he feels it is his perrogative to further assault current rules, so be it. It therefore becomes my personal perrogative to voice my opinions concerning his his opinions.
If you consider youself an ally to this fellow..........Wow...........My opinion...
