Ive killed 4 bucks in the last 4 years in archery season the first week of november using a bleat can.Every one came running like they were on a string.I think its just of matter of being in the right place at the right time with a buck i the right frame of mind.On the other hand ive never had a deer respond to a grunt call in all my years of hunting where some guys swear by them. Its all just a matter of timing.

I will agree that it's a matter of timing. You can rattle and grunt all you want, if the deer are not around close enough to hear it, they ain't coming. On the flip side if there are deer in the vicinity, you will probably get to see them if you look carefully enough whether you are calling or not. I myself use only my eyes and ears when I am on a stand. If there are deer around I will hopefully see them. I think you are more likely to give your location away to them by calling then you would just sitting still.

I've had some marginal success with a grunt call, never much luck with a can and i usually don't bother with rattling horns. I know people who swear by them as well. I've heard a lot of bucks grunting in the wild, never heard a doe bleat
