RE: new york youth hunt
i'll tell ya what, i am excited about the season for me but for the first time, no pressure. thier success has REALLY made me content....sounds strange, but i can't really explain it.
funny thing was, my dad(thier grandfather) said the same thing to me before i said it myself. i guess it means i'm gettin old!!?!?
i was one of the best days EVER.

RE: new york youth hunt
My youngest Tyler (13) harvested a jake the first youth hunt morning by 6:15am. We watched birds go to roost that Fri eve.. Sat. morning we setup. Never heard a gobble on roost. I had a jake & hen decoy setup. I only called some light yelps & few clucks. After 20 mins I see Tyler pull up, and I saw 2 jakes on a dead run to the decoys. Bang, bird down. I told him I've never had it go that easy for me, hahahaha!! Last yr. he took a jake on is first ever turkey hunt the first morning as well. I nick named him the turkey slayer!!
