PA Little Bear Hunters
#1
Just wondering why someone hunting black bear would beshoot a bear smaller than a deer. I had a buddy show me a picture of somebear in the back of someones truck and they wereposing with a sow and 3 cubs they shot. One of the cubswas an albino but the thing only weighed 47 pounds and the other 2 cubs were the same size if not smaller. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS THINKING!?!

Oh shut up. It was a legal bear taken in bear season. Seeing a bear during bear season is a once in a lifetime occurence for many bear hunters. They're not going to glass, field judge and pass on a bear because it doesn't meet the size requirements.
Are you that good at field judging bear weights? They always look bigger than they are and I'm SURE that was a dressed weight because the bear does not go to the check station with the guts still in it. It was probably moving quickly through cover (bears don't hang out in open meadows around here) and the guy misjudged the size. I'm sure he wanted to get a bigger bear. Leave it alone already.

I wasnt gonna get involved........BUT.......it was with two other cubs and the mother. The pict is in this forum. All four bear are in the back of a pickup along with three of the idiots who shot them. So yes they could tell the difference in size. And they should go back to banning of shooting cubs.

Ha that's funny I guess I should have read that other thread. My buddy showed me the pic out of the Times News. I didn't realize there was already a thread started. I've seen smaller shotin past years but the whole bear thing is way over done. I guess compared to a squirrel those are somebig bear.

I'd be willing to bet that if anyone on this forum seen any one of those bears in the woods would have their guns shouldered and safeties clicked off so fast it'd make your head spin. The bears are legal--check the PGC laws.Bears are managed totally differant than deer and cubs are killed every year and yet the population keeps growing and their territories keep expanding.

I WONDER IF ALL THE BEARS WERE WALKING TOGETHER AND THEY SHOT THE MOM THEN THE CUBS?
I GUESS IF YOU KILL THE MOM WILL THE CUBS SURVIVE?
MAYBE ALL THE SAME IF THEY KILLED THE MOM FIRST,.
MYSELF I WOULD PASS , ONCE IN A LIFETIME OP, OR NOT I WOULD LET THEM PASS AND HAVE A GOOD STORY TO TELL FRIENDS
