Full body mount no doubt
Seems fitting - then the "happy hunter" would have to be reminded of his 47 lb trophy every single day -

doesn't sound like much of a trophy, or even a worthy hunt,to me. Killed it cause he could. [:'(]

farmhunter,
Do you deer hunt? If so,do you enjoy it? If yes, what is the # 1 fawn killer in PA? BEARS!!! To me I dont care if it's 50lbs or 500lbs. Its going down, No I've never killed one, but lead would be flying at any that past me. Bears like coyotes are deer killers! would you pass on a coyote pup?

I'm very thankfull for the hunters that are satisfide with a cub, If it wasn't for them my area would have been over run with bears. They have been getting thickerand thicker around here every year . I can't bring my self to shoot one but I have killed 4 large bears already.True hunter do not belittle other legal hunters .If you do not have something nice to say about legal huntingdo not side with the antis.I'm not going to comment about someoneshooting a spike, doe, fawn ,a young bull,or anything that's legal .Please take a good look at yourself ,are you a hippacrit?[spell check anyone]

I have to double check NYS Laws but I think it is illegal to shoot a Sow with cubs
I can only speak for myself I would have passed on the bears but to each his own
Last year I has a huge black bear spook a 7 pointer on me in my shooting lane I had the flinter ready to go and here come this bears up the ridge in the berry patch myself have no need to take a bear unless in a threat to me .I can say we had a large number of bears this year on the mountain up near Hancock n.y. they due create a
problem only reason is the people with the feeders draw them in and when the feeders are empty now they start getting into there homes looking for food can't blame the bears it the people who draw them in.
I would not hesitate to shoot any bear or animal if it becomes a threat to me or someone else in season or out of season.
I am not a trophy hunter but I feel if you take a animal deer ,bear ,fish, make good use of it or just let it walk
I think life is a gift no matter if you are a animal or a person and enjoy it while here on this earth

As for the mount, I recomend toilet seat cover.
I don't think I would shoot the bear if I knew it was small. I can say I know how hard it is to judge bear. I have taken many bear and there are some 100 lb bear mixed in there i would have sworn were 150lb.

That being said. I am not game for shooting a cub (if I know it). But I have shot fawns bowhunting the urban zones and shot does with fawns. Lots of us would have no problem with this, but would shun the same when it comes to bear. Why is this. I honestly have no idea.

RE: PA Little Bear Hunters

The PGC has elected to make any bear legal in PA during the season legal - period. The population is still increasing. When you figure that the 3 day season (not counting the archery season) accounts for close to 3000 bear every year - that's a lot of bear. One reason that they made cubs legal could possibly be the way they are hunted. In most places there is not time to judge size. Prior to making cubs legal I know of a person who shot a 200 lb bear and when he checked it in was fined for killing a cub because it still had its 'milk teeth'. I've killed 3 PA bears - 97#, 189# and 259#. Every one of these bear were likely jumped by another hunter and running hell bent for the next county. The 189 pounder was a sow which I didn't know had cubs that couldn't keep up with her and I didn't see them until after I shot her. Yeah, it made me sick. I've passed up on sows with cube before.
What would be logical would be to allow bait hunting like in many other states. That would allow the hunter time to evaluate the animal for size, sex, cubs. etc. But you know that will never happen in PA. And those of you that say it isn't ethical to hunt bear over bait probably have never did it. But I bet you use deer scents and/or calls to attract deer!!

I doubt very much that Cabela's offered 140,000 dollars for an albinobear cub.

I totally agree. Can you imagine the poaching effect that would cause?
