Tuesday I was in my stand for about an hour and a half when a nice 8 came from right behind me only 10 yards away it rained until about 3AM so I never heard him I let him pass and get out about 40 yards and hit him with a barnes expander behind the shoulder and down he went. Nothing huge just a decent 8 pointer for South Jersey. I was hunting with my buddy and being over an hour from home and being able to shoot a doe I took a half assed attitude about geting in my stand, after all I already shot my buck. I dropped my buddy off at his spot at 1pm and drove the 1/2 mile to mine not being in a hurry I took a nap (tired from the mornings drag) I woke up in my truck at 2:30 got out my climber and went to a spot only 200yds from my truck. at about 4:30 the place came alive I had several does near me (no bait) I could hear a deer running I look behind me and here was a monster chasing another nice buck the Monster 10 pointerspread way outside his ears6 or so inch brow tines and his G1 was about 12" and his main beams curved out and extended past his nose if I had to guess about 160 to 170 class buck not something you see every day in Atlantic County he walked to a doe that was 70 yards away and I felt like throwing up because I could not shoot him 1 buck allowed I was always told as a kid if you let the does go buy you would shoot more bucks I was never told to let an 8 pointer go to shoot a 10 pointer. But what an experience one of the best after 33 years of hunting, I'll never forget. My buddies are excited about next week mayby one of us will get a crack at him.
