looked out the window of my truck today while heading into town to get some arrow shafts to assemble on these cold winter nights.
First I didn't believe my eyes but a quick second look and I darn near drove off the road. Saw a bald eagle on Saturday. Come to think of it, I've seen more bald eagles this year than pheasants. Uh, think that ever would have happened?

Pro-Line

I live in Ohio, and 20 years ago, it wasn't unheard of to kill a limit of pheasants. Ten years ago, it wasn't out of the ordinary to kill a few during the year. Now a days, you're about as likely to see a black bear in Ohio as you are a cock-bird.

It's a damn shame, too.

I saw an astonishing 5 pheasents about 4 years ago while small game hunting, but they flew up infront of us at about 80 yards and flew onto private property. This year I have actually saw 1, and that was walking to my treestand in the morning. It was standing in the middle of the road, I went back pheasent hunting near there and not a bird to be seen. Go Figure. Pheasent mmmmmmmmm mmmmm good!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Saw 3 otters Sunday morning too. That was more otters than I've seen pheasants too this year.
