OK who's getting syked?
Tell us what you do up to and the night before opening day of shotgun.
I go over my buddies parents house. They live in Damascus which is like 5 min from where I hunt. I sleep over with my two hunting buddies and we stay up playing ping pong and BSing late cause we're too excited to sleep. Then we lay in the bunks talking about where we're going tomorrow morning and opening days of yesteryear. Memories...

Well I'm getting charged. I love those first few hours of shooting because the entire time is a toss up. You might not see any deer, then you might see the entire herd.

I don't get to excited about gun seasoin anymore. I probably wouldn't even go this year except this is my wifes first year of hunting and I want her to whack something. I will be more nervous when a deer comes in than she probably will, I'm really hoping she can get one.

I like the way you think, saxman. Just back from WV where I waxed an 8 pointer and a doe. I will miss the Maryland gun opener for the first time in YEARS to cheer for my local boys club football teams in the championships. We are......CROFTON!

I'll be out Saturday. I haven't decided as to whether I am taking the bow or the black powder rifle. All will be decided Friday night. Guess a lot depends on how I do with the bow Thurs and Fri.
The only thing that has me concerned about the deer movement is the near full moon. I did see a doe at 415 last evening, so hopefully they will still be moving early Sat. We shall see.

I think other hunters bumping them around will help some. But that's a public land hunter talking. I don't hunt where the deer are. I try to hunt where I think they'll run to.

For deer, I use archery tackle exclusively, so I'll be out there Saturday morning seeing if anything runs close enough to my stand for me to stop and shoot at!
Once the gun seasons start, my hunting nearly shuts down until after they close and the deer start moving again. It's hard enough with a bow, but add guns to the mix and the movement becomes nearly non-existent soon after the season starts.

. More important than being in the woods. BTW, if I were to be in the woodsit would be with DaveH at his place with bow in hand

Rick,
That's where I will be. The Crofton 90's play the Chargers at 10:30, and the 125's play at 4. We're going to watch the first and tailgate between games, then head in for the second game. Your grandson's game is at 9:00, right?

I'll be up near Damascus also Saxman. Maybe we will finally run into each other. Thinking about taking my muzzleloader. I am a better shot with my muzzy but i get more bullets with the 12ga. Still have not decided yet.
