I though it was Jackie and Almeda Isaacs , brother and sister . that sold land along Rt 1 for over a million dollars. It is Hobby's ex wife Janet that I talk to all the time, we have been friends over 40 years. My brother was her best buddy until his demise. Her son gota deer last year that had some record potential. In fact Janet called me Sunday to tel me about Jay King, who worked for your poppop in his school years, he has had some serious heart problems, may need to go to Hopkins, be sure and tell your Grandpop about Jay.. I think I am going to pass on Milton today.. Go West at Jefferson about 2 miles to Clifton farm on the right before crossing a small creek, farmhouse sits in middle of field, that farm was bought by Adams" a few years ago, that's where Iv hunt sometimes..

Ron, I hope your right! My mom has heard it was Hobby (and some other Isaacs kin). She got the impression they were planning on developing the fish farm, the big fields at Jefferson Crossroads all the way to 1, as well as at the 16 and 30 intersection. She heard some pieces went for more that $25K per acre. I know Tommy and Trey (who killed the big 8 pt in 2001)...next time I see them, I'll ask!

I think I bowhunted that farm when Clifton's had it...matter of fact went with Tommy. We went a bunch of places making small pushes late one year.

I'll tell PopPop about Jay (name rings a bell)..may give PopPop a hand in the next few weeks...the roof blew off his chicken house (aka=his car storage units!!!)

Hunted last night with the smokepole near Blackiston. Underwoods Corner rd. and Blackiston Church rd. Seen only 3 small ones that came out into a winter wheat field late-5:30- right before dark. Gonna try again this afternoon if it isn't raining.

I heard it was Bobby Isaccs who sold all that land for over a Mil??.
I went to school with a Bobby Isaccs.

As far as Deer Hunting - its been a typical Jan season - Lousy.
I've been seeing a HUGE Doe on our farm. She hasn't given me a shot yet. She's one smart muther!

It's been the worst year I've had in years. Not enough rain for food crops in summer(totaly crapped out).Too much rain in fall drowned out woods, bedding areas, deer stands! Had six in the freezer this time last year, only 3 this year.

Al that is Hobby Isaacs , he is about 60, older than you. I have been rabbit hunting all day at Woodland Beach on Bob Edgell's propertry along the Del river , there was a boatload of deer tracks , Got 3 rabbits. I am going deer hunting tomorrow lnight possible , predicated on the weather.

Hey Ron,
Some where in that clan is a Bobby Isaacs.I asked my younger bro last night if he remembered a 'Bobby'.He did,but didn't know his age or which one of us 4 went to school with him??

BTW - Got a decent Doe(110+-lbs dressed)last night while it snowed in my face. The Old mamma Doe eluded me again last night while approaching my stand. My partner called me on the walky talky to say she and 2 other deer ran off just as I approached stand.I crunched a some frozen leaves, and off she went.

Hunted on the property I sub leased in the Woodland Beach area today. Got there about noon to poke around and found some very fresh sign from the night before. Set up on it around 2pm. Then it started to rain, hard. Hung in there until 4:30pm but I was soaked, cold and wouldnt have felt comfortable shooting at something with the chance at no blood trail, so i came home.

It seems like yesterday I posted the first thread for opening day results. Spent alot of time in the woods and had alot of fun. Got skunked with the bow, but saw the biggest Buck I've ever seen during a hunting season and he gave a great show. Felt honored to be out foxed by that bad boy. Saw alot of other Deer and wildlife and lost count of the sunrises and sunsets. Hunted with my Dad alot more since I got him into Archery. Its all good.

Well, until next seasons scouting reports, take care and have a good off season!

Scott

Took my bow out in the rain Saturday afternoon for a walk around our Harrington property. Saw a few deer and even passed up a shot on a big doe or buck that dropped his racked. Couldn't tell which as bino's were fogged up pretty bad so I just let it walk.

As for season's reflections...was a fair year. Put some meat in the freezer and a rack on the wall. Blew a couple really good opportunities on some really nice bucks. Saw more yearling bucks this year than I've seen in the last three year's combined!!! Good news for next year! The giant bucks didn't really show until late this year and the cold weather kept them fairley active...duely noted for future reference! Tried my hand at Sika hunting for a few days in January. I can see where the "poor man's elk" could get quite addicting!! I'll be back after them again next year! Had a ball all and all! Looking forward to some varmit and predator hunting for the next month or so then time for the turkeys! Throw in some shed hunts, scouting forrays, and then fishing season...time outta fly 'til Duckmastor starts next years thred!!
