Maine whitetails
Early this november me and my friend and taking a trip up to his camp in the eastern part of the state. This place is in the big time willie wacks. It is 98% thick forest, 1% clearcuts and 1% open swamps. I'm assuming we will be hunting pre-rut and theres no time for us to be able to scout for tracks or anything. my question is what areas should i spend most of m time? should i try to find trails in the woods and wait or sit on the edge or a swmp or clear cut in hopes that one walkss by? i'm shooting a 94 30-30 with open sights.
thanks,

Myself I like hunting fur thickets or swamps next to a hardwood ridge. Deer will travel in and out of them getting into the hardwood for nuts. Also after a lite rain I enjoy the hardwood as it is quiter walking and deer will come into them to dry off.
