This morning a fellow worker hard a flyer that he got at walmart showing changes in northern zone archery and muzzleloader. It showed no early archery and opening day for muzzleloader was Oct1st, Is this true, the paper looked logit. I was told earlier that there was a misprint in the reg books but this doesn't sound like a misprint.

No i wouldn't believe that, they wouldn't change it right before the season, especially just with a flier. I can't find anything on the dec website to support it. If anywhere it would be in the press releases and it's not.

I was just speaking with a friend that has this memo. I asked him to try and take a picture of it and email me. I searched the dec web site and found nothing on it. There has been talk about possible changes but it would seem that it would have happened by now.

There is a misprint sheet that is out from DEC. It shows the changes in bold that were made. I shows muzzleloader opening the first of Oct. so that is differnt. In the reg book it shows Sept27-19th for archery but in the memo it shows Oct1-19th same as muzzleloader so Its odd the way it is listed in thecorrection sheet. The memo is on DEc site if you view the hunt reg guide, there a link to the update.

The DEC has made this flyer so confusing for hunters. I've had 3 hunters try to tell me Northern Muzzleloader season starts Oct. 1st. I can tell you for certain. NO IT DOES NOT. Northern Muzzleloader starts Oct. 13th. Here's the confusion. The flyer lists the tags first, reading bow/mz either sex tag, and bow/mz antlerless only tag. Then underneath both those writings for tags, its reads Bowhunting season date changes. The new regulations guide printed archery season for Northern tier starting as Sept. 27th. Technically Sept. 27-30th is on the old license. The new license starts Oct. 1st, so they misprinted the dates for these tags. Thats all it is. But its confusing how wrote it.

You're absolutly right! That's how it always is in the Northern Zone. We have the three or four days to use tags from last season. When in doubt...read the Hunting and Trapping guide that comes w/ your license.
