Looks like someone had a pretty successful "beer" hunt quite recently!:D
Yeah, I think your right [&:]

Nota whole lot of challenge to "beer" hunting so I don't do it much anymore. I found the biggest challenge is to locate the distributor with the coldest ones.

Haven't officially quit myself - however the rewards of a successful hunt just don't seem to be worth it anymore. Can't remember my last visit to the beer woods;)

However, a bear hunt is something I want to try - might give them a call. As BTB said - operation pricing looks very fair to me.

You can get a motel cheaper than that and alot bigger. What about the 2 deer tags guarantee? No suchguarantee to an out of stater. But to waiste money on a bear hunt in Pa., Not worth it. Anyone has just as good of chance on SGL as they do on posted property. Unless they are baiting.

About get a life? Look how long you been a member and posting? Ask again who needs to get a life.

And your point is?

George, you have 200 posts in about a month, which works out to 2400 per year. Btbowhunter has 3000 in 4 YEARS. Who needs to get a life?

Georgepoker,
You are missing the point. We are coming in from outside the USA and will have the advantage of going straight to a lodge with comfortable cabins, a place to hang our deer, 1000 acres of private land as well as several thousand acres of state land to hunt on. The owner of the lodge is handling all license paper work and his area has 100% draw on additional doe licenses. Not to mention the fact he has 70 treestands and also has many food plots. If you were to compare that to staying in a motel and having to eat in a restaurant all the time, no where to hang deer and going in cold and competing with the locals, then it's a bargain actually. If after this first trip we find we can find good huntable land easily we can switch gears but on a first in scenario a little more money to me is nothing compared to my vacation time. This outfit has been in business for quite a while so if he was the ripoff you seem to think I doubt he would still be around. I'm not commenting on the bear hunt as I can hunt bears at my own deer camp at home, we are strictly bowhunting deer ( before the firearms seasons start ). Lodges like this do not cater to locals, I don't use lodges up here in Ontario when I hunt bear and moose either but for a non resident it can make things alot easier and more successful. So unless you have some truthful actual information about this lodge, not just near slanderous comments, just keep them to yourself.

Hey, at some point you just have to trust people. We may regret it but at this point I doubt it. I have actually had lots of oppurtunities pop up from the great folks here but this one is actually only a 4 hr drive for me which also weighs in the balance. We will report our experiences when we return.

Terry - good luck with your hunt and let us know how it turns out.
Good to see you were not dissuaded by an obviously disturbed beer hunter.
