closing in fast on 4,000 signatures Keep it up. I am hearing that the confirmation process may be slated for some time next week.

Thank you all for your hard work, and please, keep up the work and get your friend and family to write their Senators and sign the petition NOW!

The NY Post ran an article on this movement, and the NY Sun is also doing something on it. Radio stations are now getting the word out. Let's continue our fight, and step it up!

Have to move fast. Thank you all for your support! The petition will close tomorrow at 5:30 PM.

You can add the Adirondack ConservationCouncil to the party! See below:

At the Adirondack Conservation Council meeting held on 25 February, 2007 the following three resolutions were passed.
1. Support communication towers and antennas in the Adirondack Forest Preserve.
2. Support Amendment of Highway Law Section 212.
3. Oppose the Appointment of Assemblyman Grannis as DEC Commissioner.
We ask for the support of all sportsmen, outdoor recreationists, conservationists, government officials, and concerned citizens to insure these pass legislation and are enacted to guide NYS's future.
Don Sage, Life Member ACC

For a detailed list of reasons to oppose Grannis see The Adirondack Park Local Government Review Board report of 22 February, 2007 by Executive Director Fred Monroe: [email protected] or
www.adkreviewboard.com Everything Grannis has done in his 30 plus years in the Assembly has been in opposition to sportsmen, snowmobilers and the Adirondack People.
1990's Supported Cuomo's 21st Century Commission on the Adirondacks to drive every Adirondack out of his home and take his property.
1991 Grannis introduced A7305 to fully impliment Cuomo's 21st Century Commission to drive every person out of the Adirondacks and their homes.
Grannis sponsors A9019-B to create a "super agency" called the Adirondack Park Service headed by a dictator called "Park Commissioner" and to abolish DEC's Regions 5 and 6.
Grannis has consistently supported gun control and has sponsored bills to: Prohibit the release of more than 25 balloons; Ban all outdoor lighting; Prohibit "cruelty" to wild game and birds; Prohibit trapping; Endorse tresspass through private property; and the list goes on forever!
There can be no question that Grannis is the most unfit and unqualified person ever to be appointed for Commissioner of DEC. Contact your Senator today and insist they vote to reject/ oppose Grannis as DEC Commissioner!

What does he mean when he says "Prohibit 'cruelty' to wild game and birds"?

That statement is dangerously vague. that could mean no hunting if taken far enough [&:]

Exactly!

The petition has been downloaded for hard copy mailing to the Assembly and Senate. The petition itself will remain active for signatures up until the confirmation process has concluded.
Tally of sigs for hard copy stands at 5,016! Well done.

Let's continue to scream loud and clear. The Senate has bought us the time to get the facts and get them to light. They need our voices and support in large numbers. This is what they are asking for through delays in the process.

Keep up the pressure, keep asking everyone you know to do the same.

And thank you, everyone for your support!!!!!!

We have been heard, and our voice is getting stronger and louder.

We need to have a very large turn out at the upcoming Sportsmen's March on Albany, 3/13/07. I'll post more details this PM.
