Are they? They are known to be in parts of EasternCanada so it is not possible for them to wander?

If you are trying to prove something exists Don't use a photo thatis proven to be of a Wyoming cougar.

Just because something is protected doesn't mean it exists at this time.

Sorry,I meant to say extirpated.I always thought the florida Panther was a sub-species of it's own.

I would say just shoot one if you seen it. If I seen a ML while hunting,I am not taking a chance with him being the, ITis as much as scared of you as you are of IT. No way hozay. I am going to do a pre empitive strike on his a$$ to prevent that WMD from happening.
WMD= Wild Mountainlion Destruction :D

Connor,
I don't understand. You would just shoot one because your scared of them??? If you saw one at 300 yds standing, that had not seen you, or walking away from you, would you shoot it if you had the chance???

After thinking about it and some studying. It depends what it looked like..If it was a true eastern cougar then no..A western cougar,Yes, without a hitch I would shoot it...And to see one at 300yrds away in most PA. woods wood be allmost impossible with the hills and trees..So where I venture alot of my view is at the most 200yrds occasionally..But usually within 100yrds for a clear view..Why, Just to shut the people up who say there is none in the east..This will shut the non believers up..Even if it is a pet released or not. That will prove that there is ML in PA.. And from my understanding on what I read. If it is not native to this state it should be killed..A western cougar is not native here.. The flathead catfish is not native here and should be detroyed from what the PFC says also..
Is it legal to kill dogs? Yes it is. So we should treat ML as escaped petsthat are harrassing deer and the freedom to shoot them if we please.. That's all dogs are chasing deer,Released or escaped pets.And we are allowed to shoot them if they are chasing deer.

But again, I will not shoot a true eastern ML if they do roam here.. I do know what they look like from the western ML..
But yes, I will shoot one for the sport of it.. Agree or not,That is my choice..

Yes, The top one is a western cougar. I was going by the black and white photo that makes it look like a eastern cougar..The next picture is a true eatern cougar..You can tell by it's fur and how dark around it's face an ears are..
