Damascus area. I don't think I've ever seen a deer during late muzzleloader. Of course as soon as I bring the squirre/rabbit guns to hunt with there will be deer everywhere. [&:]

Nice looking doe! Where did you hit her? I'm hoping to get back out either tomorrow afternoon or Friday afternoon.

Hunterbrum,

Looks like a nice one. I can't get out again until Saturday. I am hoping the last day will bring lots of people out to move them around. They are sitting tight in my area during daylight hours.

Yep sitting tight here too. Went out today and saw squat. No deer and no squirrels. Don't know what was up with the squirrels but I was out there all day and not a one showed up. [&:]

Despite this pesky cold that I have, I intend to be in the woods tomorrow afternoon and Sat morning to see if I can't get a doe or two or three since I took a buck last weekend. I am also going to buy a digital camera this weekend, that way I can post field pics in the future.

For those of you that aren't seeing anything (focused more on private land), have you thought about changing stand locations or maybe even stalking? I don't see deer everytime I am on one of my stands, but then again everyday is different. I mean, the ONLY deer I saw last Saturday was the 9/10-point I shot and he didn't come out til 4:45. I'm trying to help you guys out here.

Hammy,

Thanks for the advice. I know where the deergo on the farm I hunt. On the neighboring farms. This property gets pounded just about as hard as public land, if not more so. We have watched the deer go onto the neighbors property and bed down for the remainder of the daylight hours. These neighboring properties have light hunting pressure so the deerjust sit tight. I have found the best hunting to be in the morning when there are still some stragglers feeding on the farm we hunt. By 10, if not sooner, they have crossed over for the day.
