Heavy chasing in Region 8 on Nov. 1st. 5 different bucks worked their way past me, all chasing two does over the course of the evening hunt. Several other hunters in the area reported the same thing to me.
It calmed down quite a bit after that around here. Saw does yesterday unattended, and with nothing following. Bucks were not as aggressive, and were feeding. I think this warm spell is going to really be a big blow for us bowhunters. Hello nocturnal patterns!

This past wknd I found several new scrapes. I like to keep track of the activity, and mark it in a log for future reference. When I've found numerous scrapes in specific areas I mark it as "Heavy Scraping", and its never been long after that the full rut starts. I watched a small buck chase a doe around, but she eventually ran off, and he returned to feed on some hawthorne leaves. If she was in heat she'd been run all over by several bucks. So as of 11/5 in my area of Region 7 they weren't quite there yet. But its definitly hard Pre-Rut. I also watched a beautiful 9pt make a scrape that sameday!
