Yep....there's a trophy to mount on your wall and brag to your friends about. A more worthy trophy would be to just shop around at garage sales till you find a decent mount. A person could save thousands of dollars and retain their dignity as a hunter in one felled-swoop<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> Did I say hunter? Sorry...my mistake.

that is nuts and i have seen the placeon tv,,,u can fish there also. they plant alot of the imperial clovers and so forth. if u have $20,000 to spend..u can easily invest the time on any spot and nail a nice animal...i would never do it, but at the same time...whatever floats your boat.

I hear ya Cardeer, and I echo your feelings.

A guy I've hunted with is in the process of buying approx 9000 feet of 8' fence to fence in 165+ acres that he owns. He plans to have exotic hunts,(from $500-3500) trophy whitetail hunts, ($2500-???), and management whitetail hunts (about $1000). I told him that he's adding to the ruination of our sport. I didn't mince words with him...because that's the truth.

Sad thing is that I've been to the sales where these animals are bought/sold and they don't go for all that much. Trophies are expensive. This guy buys young animals and pens them in hopes that they get huge. He bought a button buck in 1996 for $175. He sold it less than 3 yrs later for $3500. It was a 12pt that rough scored 175. I watched him measure the rack...while the deer was standing in front of him. He said that on a lot of these &quot;ranches&quot; some animals are still groggy from the drugs when taken. I guess he wants a piece of this &quot;action.&quot;

Damn shame...

I hear you cardeer,and if alot of Pa hunters don't think in years to come with all the big bucks Gary Alt is promising that there won't be more leased land and ranches like this here in Pa they had better open their eyes now.How do you think places like texas started it and the owners don't do it for the love of the game.If they did it wouldn't cost thousands of dollars to harvest a buck.
Step aside texas,here comes Pa right behind you.

Hey Cardeer. Can I be your business partner? I have a three acre field that we could put a twenty foot high fence around it and fill it with HUGE bucks, then these &quot;trophy hunters&quot; would have a &quot;good, quality&quot; &quot;hunt&quot;. Just imagine it. We would be rolling in the money. Haha, what a joke. I can't believe these hunts. You get to pick the animal size class that you want. Gosh, what next, you will be able to choose the weight of the deer too.

Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet
P.S. Only Chuck Adams can sit at home and see deer so get into the woods. =;^)

got news for you guys...this is exactly how Ill. Kan. Neb. Tex ,etc. got started. Take Iowa for example: high unemployment, low return on farming protected deer in low deer density per sq. mile counties. Some guy from out of state sees $$ to be made. Offers to lease farms ,post them, and offer hunts..the rest is history............just like Pa is going to be under Alt's plan.
Much of Pa is under lease or private land for club hunting now. It will only get worse. The public lands in those other states is just as poor hunting as it is on Pa's GL .
