I hear ya Cardeer, and I echo your feelings.

A guy I've hunted with is in the process of buying approx 9000 feet of 8' fence to fence in 165+ acres that he owns. He plans to have exotic hunts,(from $500-3500) trophy whitetail hunts, ($2500-???), and management whitetail hunts (about $1000). I told him that he's adding to the ruination of our sport. I didn't mince words with him...because that's the truth.

Sad thing is that I've been to the sales where these animals are bought/sold and they don't go for all that much. Trophies are expensive. This guy buys young animals and pens them in hopes that they get huge. He bought a button buck in 1996 for $175. He sold it less than 3 yrs later for $3500. It was a 12pt that rough scored 175. I watched him measure the rack...while the deer was standing in front of him. He said that on a lot of these "ranches" some animals are still groggy from the drugs when taken. I guess he wants a piece of this "action."

Damn shame...
