For some reason the WV DNR site keeps locking up when I try to access it. I was considering traveling to WV for some bow hunting east of the Summersville area on some land owned by relatives.
When is bow season, limits, and is there any special regulations for non residents?
Thanks

I haven't hunted there since 2002. But I did hunt there since 1985. Some of the countys have different regulations than others. I hunted in Marshall county. I believe that if you buy all the tags you can get 3 deer with a bow now. One must be antlerless.
The season usually starts in mid October and runs til Dec 31st.
Only one deer per day. ( You can't shoot 2 on the same day)
All deer must be taken to a check station.
If you buy all tags you can legally take;
3 deer with a bow
2 bucks with a rifle
2 does with a rifle
1 deer with a muzzleloader.
Now this is the way it use to be in Marshall County and some others. Not all countys are as liberal on the bag limits. Some don't allow you to take that many deer.
Marshall Co. is in the northern panhandle, by the way.
baiting is allowed
A legal buck is one that has at least one antler at least 3 inches long.
Like I said, I haven't hunted there since 2002, so some of these regs. might have changed since then.

limits have changed.... fees have increased....deer herd population has decreased,also..... I quit hunting other states, due to outrageous fees, we're gettin' just as bad....

My camp isn't too awful far from the Summersville area. True, the deer populations are lower, but there are still deer.
We have killed some really nice deer the past couple years, though.
