Are Woodchucks Awake Yet?

i saw a few out and a few smashed on the side of the road. April is the money maker for groundhog hunting for me. I have this one place that is loaded with hogs(or use to be
) and like aroundapril 15th it was warm and sunny. It was like the whack-a-mole game. I would shoot one and then like a minute later another one would pop up. I killed like 6 in a weekend like that with my roommates 17. It was great! can't wait to get back at it again!

I shoot most of them at distance from a bipod, but walking around pasture and field edges and shooting them offhand is a great way to sharpen one's shooting skills. Late in the season I tend totake offhand shots at 'em in a field with one of my "deer" rifles for some extra practice, if there's a safe backstop.

weekend before last I saw 2x of them in Bradford County PA on my way to my favorite hunting spot for them. Jaws and I were actually on our way to looking for some to blast.....unfortunately we only saw ones on the car ride there. One was a hawg. Can't wait to shoot a few with my new .223.
