Good job Sika!!! Md, De, what's the difference!!! Sounds like you had a great preminition going there. You called it, what, way back in September that 11/9 was to be your day?

Had a real close call tonight! Had a beast come in at 4:30! Heard him make scrapes in a patch of hollies. He came in on the wrong side of me (Why and how do the monsters always pull that off??!!!) Bleated with my mouth to stop him in what looked like a small opening. He went one step to far! I leaned out to shoot and he picked me out!! The opening was fairly small so it's probably best he took off! He was a basic ten with split brows and forked G2s. Had about a 20" spread. I have his shed from last year so I figure he's 4.5 plus! Dang fine buck!!!! Hope he makes through gun season!!!

I'll be in Maryland for the next few weeks avoiding the pumpkin army! Will follow Sika's lead and post reports here! Good luck everyone!!!

hunted 2hrs b4 dark..had a 2yr old pass me to the right at 25-30. i was going to shoot, but i just didnt see the sense in it. the deer may have been younger than that...1.5?? how do i know, right his rack was ok, but not what i am looking for. that deer will be a nice one next season...if he makes it through next week. hopefully when the POPPIN starts, they hide out. the following week when it is nice and quiet..i will b at it again..i may get out during gun. has anyone ever been shot during shotgun in de...and killed??

nice hunt debob...get at him tues

hey DE archers..i forgot to add this. i had the hawgs limited scent placed in the area where the buck showed this evening. he didnt follow the line i had laid. i dont know if he smelled it and came...or it could have been my rattle technique trust me, it's nothing special. i will be at it again n the morning...rain or shine. if it is raining ...i will be in the pines..and i will rattle. u know what, i think i am taking the doe decoy in with me..couldnt hurt. talk to u in the evening

Thanks guys.
I'll give you a call Coolerpup, I got the number.
I'll be the same area, right across from ya if I go, but I'm undecided at this point if I'm going to hunt DE or MD, I may try for a sika or one of those white does. Probably decide driving down Thursday morning. I have 4 hours drive time to think on it.
Tough break DeBob, but there's plenty of hunting left to get him. Sounds like a beast. What I'd give for a monster 12!
I think you're pretty safe lemond33, a little common sense should keep you out of harms way, just leave the brown coveralls and white wool hat at home. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Well, I got someone to cover for me at the office tomorrow afternoon so Dad and I will be heading to the leased farm. Wonder if the Corn I refreshed on Saturday has drawn any interest (besides tree rats). The rain should be ending and a cold NW wind will be blowing. Im hoping that will move them. Esp after the rain. Last shot with the bow before Friday and I dawn the Orange and become a member of the &quot;pumpkin army&quot;. I'll post the results tomorrow night.

thanks ,,,that makes me feel better. i hunted last year shotgun and stayed away from the public stands. i will never forget hearing a blast at ..like...445pm one evening from a stand only 200yds from me. i just smiled..and said out loud, &quot;something got smoked&quot;

ok. i hunted today ..in the rain and saw some deer nothing of antler size. i will be at it in the am...by 10am i am hoping. i might pull an all day hunt. i will see how i feel. good luck to all and good shooting.

if anyone is looking for the ultimate in ground blind hunting...look at the double bull site. i have the T2 and i set it in only 5 sec...really. at first it will take you 30sec-1min, but once u get it going...it's great. the screens shoot through with no problems. i will get at everyone in the evening.

Hunted this evening with my Dad. No Deer. The weather was perfect just nothing moved through. Thats why they call it hunting. Next hunt is Friday Shotgun. We need to start a new thread just for gun hunting stories. I'll post that hunt seperate. Good luck to all that head out Friday. Be safe!

With the 1st Shotgun Season behind us, its time to revive the Bow thread. Im waterfowl hunting in NJ Thanksgiving and Friday. Was thinking about an afternoon Bow hunt in DE Saturday afternoon, but right now they are calling for a pretty stiff wind. After the attack of the Pumpkin Army (myself included) I'm thinking they're pretty much nocturnal at this point. A good snow and cold (I mean fridgid) snap would help. Anyone else giving it a go over the holiday?
