I can't imagine but I'd have to throw him/her off the property cause they'd be trespassing.

I think its cool It would test ones stalking skills to the extreme I would probley not try it cause I only took my longbow out once and I'm only good to 20 yards and wont you know it thats when I see the big 11 pointer at 40 yards watched him for 30 minutes later in the week he fell to my more modern equipment at 18 yards strange how that works isn't it? so Im not a fan of any weapons pre 1800's so Im not sure of the b.c. time weapons either.

I'm all for it,
looks like takes lots of skill, and low success rate,
if you can get close enough to spear it, and use the spear accurately, then you should be allowed to hunt with it

Let them have at it. Very, very small user group. More deer are wounded in any other season compared to what will be wounded with an atlatl. Heck, more are wounded in the first 10 minutes of gun season then this group would in 10 years.

I think it's cool for them. Anyone who uses one is going to be hardcore and serious and practice. I did some research on them and they are quite lethal. I threw the javelin in college....I may have to give this a shot sometime.

I'm with them. Not that I have any desire to hunt with a spear but why not for those who have an interest? I admire anyone who is willing to make the commitment that would be necessary to even think of hunting deer with it.

I read an article just recently about this. From what I gathered, the Game Commissioners seemed to be in favor of it, but the staff (whoever that is) was recommending against it.
Although I have never seen one work, my initial impression is that it just may give the anti's and the PETA people more ammunition. Something none of us need. I have serious reservations-------

i believe that atlatls have been used by every major civilization in history.

a guy i know makes them, and he offered to do a demonstration for our outdoor recreation and conservation club and let us try it out, but it wouldnt fit into anyone's schedules. Hopefully i will get to try it out this spring

I wouldn't use one to hunt with, but if someone was sure enough in their skill to try it, i wouldnt stop them.

It's not for me....but if you can pull it off good luck! It can't hurt anything at this point.
