I'd rather see one with my own eyes to believe for sure, I don't however dismiss all the sightings.

Or maybe I'd rather not espescially with a bow only!

Hard to disprove or explain away a cast.

I don't think another word needs to be said. It has just been done.

Who needs a cast to prove anything? You need a dead body.

I'm not suggesting anymore than the article states.I have an open mind whan it comes to animals in the wild. Its sad to think the only way to prove there is ML in PA is to bring in a dead body along with a hundred witnesses to testify under oath.

"Mountain lions are long-range dispersers and I do keep an open mind. After all, Missouri for many years officially dismissed reports of mountain lion sightings and now they have documented a reproducing population."
In almost any given year, a few Pennsylvania residents think that they have seen a mountain lion. According to PGC press secretary Jerry Feaser, most are cases of mistaken identity. He is probably correct, but that does not explain away Grieb's track.

There very well could be a few mountain lions roaming around. However, the questions comes in,where did they come from and how long have they been in the wild?I don't for one minute believe that we have a wild, breeding self sustaining population that was always here or recently migrated.I also don't believe that the PGC or any state organization would introduce them.I do think it's possible that some extemist enviromental groupwould go to the lengths to let some lose.I also think it's possible that people have let their illegal pets lose.In the last two instances,I have to question what the survival rate would be like.I think you'd have to let quite a few lose to establish a breeding population and I think that's highly unlikely.

I for one never get tired ofreading and talking about the topic of "mysterious" animals. At the same time, it is obviously necessary to closely scrutinize these reports rather than always taking them at face value. Its just toobad that folks can'tdiscuss these things without hostilitycreeping in. There are now regulalry documented sightings in Iowa and Missouri, and somein Oklahoma. One found dead in Oklahoma was traced to the Black Hills. However, it seems unlikely for such an extreme eastward spread. Are theredocumented panther sightingin eastern Canada.

there is picture of mountain lion being passed around the town of renovo,pa.the picture was taken in keating,pa. which is about 6 miles west of renovo in clinton county wmu2g. the picture was taken recently with one of those night cameras you put on a tree.the picture is real clear for night shot in dark.so, add that one to the NO LIONS IN PA. folks, there here,no doubt about it.also centre county is only about 15 miles or so away over mountain from keating, pa. maybe less.

I belive that there are mountain lions in both PA and in NY - I myself have seen evidence of them in NY and my brother saw one while fly fishing in Delevan, NY on the Elton Creek - I have posted the story on here before so I won't go into details -

My point is that I am not one of those people with my mind set either way on the topic. Yes, I belive there are some Mt lions around - how many and where they came from I don't know. and Yes, I belive that many of the sightings and stories told are either mistaken identity or just plain BS. All accounts of Mt Lions have to be looked at closely and the source considered.

One question about the pic being passed around renovo PA - it the mountain lions stalking a deer in the pic - if so it sounds like a pic that has been passed around for years of a mt lion stalking a mule deer - which are definatly not in PA. -

someone making a cast of an animal that could easily survive in PA (whether it is wild or released from captivity) is in no way close to being compared to a faked cast of a footprint of a make believe big foot. Mountain lions actually exist in this country, both in the wild in some parts, and in captivity all over, including right here in the north east

That article never said "there is a wild, breeding, self sustaining population", it said this guy made a cast of a foot print he found. Why does everyone always assume that every report of mountai lion sightings, or tracks is a big conspiracy? It is totally possible that these animals are living in the wilderness in PA and NY. notice i did not say a large wild population.

as far as this thing about insurance companies planting them, its total bull, so dont even bring it up.

Mountain lions, cougars have been sighted in Delaware, more than a few times, near a rather large residential, in fact on the other side of a woods I walk in, and there has been photographic aveidence to validate it, so why not in the wilds of
Pa big woods country...
