Well you didn't miss anything at Browns Church. One shot that I could tell was legit and the rest were guys emptying their guns to go home. I saw NOTHING. The snow that is out there has an ice surface so when you walk anywhere it is like walking on fluorescant light tubes. So noisy!!! Plus when I got there it was 27 and when I got out at noon it was 32. Seemed like a good morning if there was no ice/snow on the ground.

I would have rather had the hangover.

Hearing your stories makes me feel a little bit better now. [:-]

I went out on Friday but I should have just stayed in bed. I woke up late and it was getting light out by the time I got to Meade. Then the guy told me D was closed. Just because he can't drive in the snow/ice doesn't mean I can't! [:@] I went to P. I have never been there but looked at aerial photos. It was like walking on rice crispies and I spooked something while walking in. All I saw was a white butt.

But, they say inside every dark cloud is a silver lining. My friend Jim and I scouted another area (I'm not telling where [:-] ) and we found a well beaten trail. There was a nice rub line and at the end was a tree that was at least 14" in diameter that was all gouged up. I'm thinking it was more like 16"! I will be out there on Monday. I hope I will do well since I'll call work sporting a nasty cold that morning. ;)

DW, where will you be hunting? I will look for your truck. I have a new Ram 1500 that is grey.

I MIGHT be out there on Monday, depending on what time I get home from the Redskins game tomorrow night. We usually hang around after the game and have a few more. If I go, I'll be driving my green Dodge Dakota and will be hunting I. What time does it start getting light in the woods now, 7:00?Also, do you needan extra stamp for muzzleloader? It just dawned on me Idon't have one yet!

Doug,

Friday was a litle overcast so it didn't start getting light till almost 7:10. I would say about 30 mins before sunrise is the norm so Monday should be around 7am.

Yes, you need a ML stamp to show that you qualified. Did you qualify with yours? If not, you can always bowhunt instead.

I qualified, but wasn't sure if you needed to buy a muzzleloader stamp for the Maryland hunting license nowadays.

You need one for the state license but if you qualified at Meade then you are good.

Let me explain better. Meade is Federal property so it doesn't follow the same guidelines as State property. You do not need a State ML stamp to use a ML at Meade.

you better double check that. I think i read somewhere in the meade book that it follows all state laws. Just the deer you take do not count towards your md license.

Yep, very 1st page in very big text.

NOTE: ALL STATE OF MARYLAND AND FEDERAL HUNTING REGULATIONS ARE IN EFFECT UNLESS NOTED HERE OR POSTED AT THE HUNTING CONTROL STATION.
