My son also got his 1st deer this year. It was a doe that weighed about 80lbs. Bet you were like me, grinning ear to ear slapping him on the back and shakeing the hell out of him, lol.
Deer Whisperer--you bet we were! We were high fiving and slapping each other on the back and huggin' I was happier for him than I usually am about the ones I get. I was the same way a number of years ago when my oldest son (who was also 14 at the time) took his first -- an 8 point with the bow that scored 128 P&Y!

I've taken 4 myself this year, but I'm limiting myself to bow only -- again.

Gotta get out to Meade again before it's through. It would be nice to hook up with you guys who hunt Meade for a hunt, if not this year then maybe next. Even if we hunted our own spots it would be cool if we had radios to see how each other is doing, etc. (if they can get receptionthat far apart). I don't need a doe this year, so will be glad topop andtag one to give to one of you guys, or only shoot a buck that has 6 or more points...

Looks like this weekend is going down the tubes. I don't mind the snow but I'm not hunting in freezing rain. I can't believe the deer will be moving in it either. So I guess that leaves next week if the wife will let me go out that close the Christmas.

At least in North Track you can still hunt if the weather is bad. Might be able to sneak up on one.

This Saturday is a lottery hunt for Central Tract. Bring your shotgun and ML and do a standby. If you don't get picked for Central you can just go to North Tract.

Unfortunately the wife said no way I can go out Saturday. [:@]
