no bear here that big in pa.i live in clinton county, 2nd best county for bear.i believe they did get one around 900 pds was biggest but not in clinton.our bears are small do to not as much farms here.big bears are now killed in farm areas of state do to corn.some of bears biggest i heard were 650,680 range.

i think the largest black bear is like 787 ibs on record in Newfoundland
I mean, what factual evidence do people have that prove Pa has small bears. I have seen plenty that prove the opposite but none that proves we are a small bear state. I guess I have to agree with Mossy to an extent...Mitch probably did make the rounds through Pa but as he was stocking those yotes and lions he must have been stocking monster bear from Canada...I mean how else could those boars have got here, there's no way they grew up in Pa

Hard to believe for sure, but I'd love to see a picture just the same.
I saw a bear track this year that blew my mind. It's hind track was bigger than my size thirteen boot, and we don't have grizzlies in Maine! I'm sure it wouldn't even be close to 1000 pounds, but I have to wonder what it would weigh.

When you guys go to Game Commission headquarters next month to testify about the deer thingy, take a look at the bear they have mounted there. It was shot illegally, I think in Lycoming County, and is quite impressive.
