I just got in my stand and was settling in for a good morning at about 6:40 when to my left I heard something coming. It was a Coyote[:-]just 15 yards from me. He spotted me right away and could care less. I got up (heart pounding) figured what the hey I got my small game lic
I went to draw my bow and just as I get to full draw the arrow comes off the rest[:@][:@][:@]O'well I blew that one. After a while I kept hearing crows over from where the Coyote came from. Well, on my way out of the woods I searched the areawhere the Coyote came from and found a dead doe.Neighbor gut shot her the other day and couldn't find her.Not much left of her. In over 15 year hunting these parts(Oneonta)this is the first time I have seen a coyote in the woods. It was the only thing I seen all weekend [:'(]

thats to bad you didnt get him, that would have been cool. well get use to them youll start seeing more. i saw my first one in 1986 and now i see just as many coyote tracks as i do deer.
ive only ever gotten one, seems like i see them at the wrong times.

Seems to be alot around lately. I missed one myself last week, mine was a little closer though. I gave him a hair cut if ya know what I mean. I had my arrow come off my rest about 3 years ago when I drew on a spike. He heard it and picked me out. I did get a shot but he knew I was there and ducked the shot causeing me to hit him high. I never found him but did see him later that season. After that day I started using the whisker bisquit. That arrow stays in place now.

I hear ya. I've never seen so many on the land I hunt as this year. Every other time I go out I see one. However, there is one less than there was at the begining of the season on my land

Driving to work this morning on a back road - I saw a big Coyote running towards me in an open field. I stopped the car and rolled the window down for a good look. The coyote ran all the way up to me - to about 20 ft away - it stopped - we made eye contact - and he slowly sidestepped around the back of the car and crossed the road. It was neat -an a little creepy! The way he never took his eyes off me - and NEVER looked afraid of me. I wish I had a camera on the front seat.

when i started hunting with my dad, before i was old enough, we used to see coyotes all the time, now we rarely see any. I rememebr one year we saw one that looked pure bred wolf, the colrs were really awesome and the tail was really big around. With its colors, i couldnt see him when it stopped walking through the woods(with snow on), but i was probably 12 at the time.
