dj, what part of the rut are you talking about?? theres 3 parts. the seeking,chasing,and actual mating.seeking and chasing are your best bets. its any time now for it to kick in. ive seen it where you hunt a area and bucks are kickin the doe's around. the next day i go on another part of the farm and the bucks could care less about the doe's yet. depends on locale. but byv the end of next week. it will be full blown seeking.grunts will work right now,posibbly a lil ratllin.

I usually plan on halloween for the rut to kick in not the mating but chasing the does around
