Default Twas the night before bow season

Twas the night before bow season and all through the house.
Weall knew what was coming, even the mouse.
The treestands were hung by the crossings with care
In hope that ol mossyhorn soon would be there
Cant find my camo, the dog ate my cap
Sleep will be sparse tonite, barely a nap
At 4 AM the alarm will chatter
I'm ready to go, sleep doesnt matter!
Mad as a bear, I wait by my gear
Its a half hour late and my buddy's not here
He was due here at five and its nearly half past
Im thinking of ways that Ill kick his A__
He finally arrives I am so pumped
but wait, now my buddy must take a dump!
We finally get going but wait, oh no!
I was so p---ed off that I left my bow
Back to the house and I'm just not talkin
And If he says a word he wont be walkin
Finally finally we get to the woods
an hour or so later than we should
But at least now its Ok cause Im finally here
Im close tomy treestand, there'sthe snort of a deer!
Its just getting light and what do I see?
The buck Ive been dreaming of running from me
snorting and crashing as he runs away
Why didnt I just sleep in today?
What was that noise, that distinct sound, a whack!
here comes that big buck, he'scoming straight back
But somethings not right, I shake my head
coming out of his chest is a big streak of red!
he stumbles he trips now he's hit the dirt
If Id just been on time! wow does this hurt!
And what to my wondering eyes should appear?
My good old ex buddy tracking that deer!
He lets out a holler and whips out his tag
who do ya spose will have to help drag?
On the way home his bragging just will not stop
A vein in my neck is ready to pop
But tomorrows a new day I'll just go alone
but NO! theres ahoney-do list waiting at home

good luck you arrow flingers!!! ill be sleeping in...for the first day since i came to college i do believe......i never had the time to devote to bow hunting(practicing shooting and all)...i never knew that...but dad being an EXbowhunter knew with me working full time all summer and workinghard all schoolyear plus high school that i wouldnt have the time to practice like i need.......thats one of the reasons he quit bow hunting....kinda sad....i hear stories of how he was an awesome bow hunter from people that i met for the first time.....but ill get into it one day.....maybe this summer and next season......wish i was headed out in the morning......good luck all you arrow flingers......ill be out there october 15th with the ole rock lock! cant wait for that......last gun to go in the closet and the first one back in the woods!
