I don't understand what all the hubbub is about, if you want to use a shotgun then do so. The fact is that it will be a law soon and that is that.
I will also say this I will put anyone of my rifle up against any shotgun for accuracy @100yds. There are going to be morons taking stupid shots however, that should not impede my right to hunt with my rifles no more than you should lose you drivers license because some guy got drunk and killed somebody with his car. You obliviously perfer rifle........... My intenet was to say it was not necessary in our zone. I do not see what necessary has to do with hunting at all. Hunting is a sport now a necessity and like any sport I want the best equipment to play.

I'm glad that this Bill passed!! With the In-line Muzzel loader shooters as well as the single shot bolt/break open high powered pistols, the step up to rifles makes sense!! Shotguns aren't as accuate as a rifle, and they are much heavier to carry. With the cost of quality sabots slugs, you can now buy a box of 20 rifle cartridges for almost the price of 5 deer slugs!! It's a win, win situation in my book!!

Again I really didn't want a debat on this, its obivious that you don't understand my content or you just don't care.Like you state if it will happen it will happen. But I think you forgot a very importantfact, hunting is a necessity.
To control the population of Deer....No? With that said of course we look at it as a sport. I do also.

I think you don't understand what personal prefernce means....... I really don't understand why people are avoiding the most obvious questions... What really has changed to make itok for us to use Rifle? Whats different now that was wasn't then?
The only thing I see is that our population has grown. I think everyone is avoiding that fact just so they can get what gun they want. Period.

Oh when I mean that it is not necessary its not. If you can't get a deer with a shotgun what makes it any better with a rifle besides the fact that you can get further shots...... I don't want hear about the gun is more accurate....
I'm not agruing with you on that. It is! But if you practice, so will your shotgun be accurate as well. It will do just as good a job.One of the placesI hunt their are a lot of houses around, I will love to see what happens when people start doing drives and taking long shots, because it will happen. I'm sure people are not going to think about the fact that rifle ristrictions in distance to homes is greater... Espically when they have been hunting their for years. Its obivious that some people here can care less on safety and more on their guns.

I own myown land, so yes Iwill not change weapons. But if I were hunting state land you better believe that I would go and buy a rifle. Why shouldn't I be able to take far shots..... Its just commen sense to me! Since we think of it as a sport I'm sure your understand that.Right.

Now I'm sure your come back with something of the point of how your better shot with your rifle ........I'm sorrybut thats not my concern. Please stick to the important question, not your perfernce!

Apparantly your anti-rifle feelings dont run very deep.

I guess no one has an answer to my question?

It seems you just like to nitpick at my post. Thats fine, it just proves your trying to avoid the point. Either way everyone is entitled to their opinion. Thats life. Well I'm finished discussing this, unless someone has something useful to say.

There willbe a lot of windows shattered and hopefully nobody on the other side of them. It happens now with shotguns.

if someone is careless enough to hit a house they should be held responsable for it weather you use a shotgun ,rifle , bow or whatever

According to this morning's (8/23/05) Ithaca Journal and Binghamton Press, Pataki just got the bill last Thursday and has not yet signed it. There is a good chance that he will NOT sign the bill because of protests coming fromTioga County. Many in Tioga, including myself want Tioga to be EXCLUDED from this bill.
