Hey Black. I do this almost every year because I love to bow hunt and also slug hunt. If you want to hunt both bow and rifle. I work with a conseravtion officer here and this is directly from him.
If you buy a bow tag and a gun tag at the same time you can hunt with the bow and take a deer legally but then you can't hunt and tag a deer with your gun tag. If you don't shoot one with your bow then you can use your gun tag to hunt and tag a deer with it during gun season. If you don't shoot one during gun season you can still bowhunt and take a deer with your bow.
However if your area offers MANAGEMENT bow tags. Then you can buy a management tag the sametime you buy your other two tags and bow hunt and shoot a DOE and tag it with your management tag.
NOW you can tag another deer with either your regular bow tag or your gun but not both. Lose you yet?
Another little thing if you get a bow management tag and get drawn for a gun management tag. You can shoot a DOE with your bow management tag and shoot a DOE with your gun management tag and still be able to use either your regular gun tag or your regular bow tag on a big buck but not both. That's the best way I can explain it. So if you get all these tags the regular bow, management bow, regular gun, and management gun you can take 3 deer during a season legally but 2 of them have to be DOES.
Like I said I asked a conservation officer about that and what I just told you I what he told me.
Hope I could help you out.
I should mention for you to MAKE SURE your mangament permits coenside with the AREA your hunting in and no other area for that would be very very bad. With that in mind this should work for you. Any questions post a reply.
Wait, wait, ready PLUG EM!!!!!
