I know wnat you mean,, this is the first year in 20 years that i didnt fill a rifle tag, I passed a small 8 pointer and nine does on opening day,, and saw nothing else until the last evening, and then saw two does, i went ahead and passed them tooo,, id rather take them with my muzzleloader anyway, bowseason hasnt been good either,, but i did manage to take a good one with my bow.

I believe the deer to be moving nocturnally during most of the gun season. The best week for me was the week of the youth hunt Nov 6&7 Lots of bucks chasing does.Got a nice heavy 8 with the bow. Once again the Missouri rut was before the rifle season. I am looking forward to the last weekend of muzzleloader season as the second rut should be in full swing.

I hunted opening day thru Tuesday morning. I shot a small doe opening morning that I almost passed on. The rest of the time I only saw a couple more deer, none in which I could get a shot at. This was in Clark county around Revere. I still have a bonus tag so I may go back for the antlerless portion. I have the Amish over there building my wife a cedar chest for Christmas I will need to pick up, so I might as well go back to the woods for a couple of days while im there.

We had great season on SW MO in Barton county where we were at. My 14 year old son got an 11 pointer and I got a nice 8 pointer all by 8:30a.m opening morning. Then my son shot a doe that evening and I shot a doe Sunday morning. Our group of 5 got 3 bucks and 3 does and missed 2 other does. Since opening weekend havn't been seeing any deer though.

I have been seeing lots of does but no bucks. I bowhunted during youth season and saw several does but no one was being chased. Hopefully second rut will produce some action.
