In fact the landowner/friend of mine encouraged me to. He admitted to me that the deer population will get out of hand within a short time without solid laws not protecting landowners from liability.

Why not just give him a dollar and consider it a lease.

If the landowner is a friend he ought to know that you won't hold him liable for anything stupid you do.

according to the news folk, a lease doesn't totally release the landowner from liability. this would mean this could greatly affect the outfitters, i would imagine this will get changed fairly quickly.
