Wisconsin archery opener Saturday

Well boys, I'm eating crow right now, I just had a conversation with a guy at work today about how he saw a "140"' inch buck running a doe on saturday evening. I without actually saying the words called him a liar. Well now I get to go in tomorow morning and tell him I'm sorry for not believing him since on my way home from work I went out by my land and as I was heading back, I saw a doe come busting out of the woods and into a cut bean field and it wasn't 5 seconds and here he come. I'm not going to say what I think the score was but lets just say I will only shoot a mature 4.5 yr old buck and up and I would have definitely shot this buck. She ran across the field and he wasn't too far behind, as I pulled over to watch she ran into the woods and then a few seconds later she came out of a little brushy draw with him 40-50yds behind her. Couldn't hear him grunting or anything like that but he was sure dogging her.. It sure seems early, I know its the middle of Oct. but wow, I seen it with it with my own eyes...

This was my first time bow hunting since the late 90's. Early season was really difficult with the heat and mosquitoes but it was just great to be out in the woods again. I didn't really see much until the temperatures started dropping in the mornings. Can't wait to get out there next weekend.
