I have noticed that over the last several years that as the turkey population grows and Tom's don't have to compete for hens as much, that the birds are staying in the timber more. Like 95% of the time more. Here in the west central part of the state there are a lot of turkeys, but because there are so many hens now the Tom's don't come to calling, kinda like the deer buck to doe ratio. Thanks WI DNR, can't count turkey's either................
