"Late" Ohio Muzzleloader Season
I grew up on a Ohio farm and have always had great success with the Ohio muzzleloader season. It was always nice to go back to Ohio during Christmas break and do some muzzy hunting. Until this year....
Could anyone explain to me why the ODNR changed the muzzleloader season?
Im only seeing some big negatives on this change.
1. Less people will be able to go hunting.
2. Many bucks have shed there antlers
Positives?
1. Colder??
2. a Different season no other state has?
Could someone help me out on why it has changed?

KC...I'm a buckeye, and I agree with you. BUT...the DNR came out directly and said that due to people's holiday commitments that they were NOT seeing the number of hunters in the woods that they had hoped...and that this new later season over a weekend would get more hunters in the woods.
I'm a teacher, and I'm off over Christmas...so I am not happy about the change. But, I guess we'll have to wait and see if the DNR knows what they are doing.
